Expecting any autistic person to react allistically to anything indicates that you have zero understanding of what autism is. Furthermore, demanding that an autistic person work every fucking second of every day to act more allistic indicates that you have no fucking idea how much effort and exhaustion that takes and how goddam pointless and self-hating it is to hide the fucking way your brain works.

I’m tired of allistic supremacy. I’m tired of being told I’m gross and weird and creepy and uncanny and kinda retarded sometimes. I’m tired of having the ability to read and understand allistic people valued above anything else. I’m tired of being a token retard, a single acceptable face on autism for you to hide your bigotry behind.

I’m tolerated until I say I don’t want to be your token minority, your imaginary autistic friend. Then I’m rude, aggressive, angry, mean, unsympathetic. I don’t understand the value of society. I can’t empathize with all the people affected by autism. I’m scary and creepy and acting like some monster.

So if I just walk away from you, then know that it’s not something you should brush off as being some autistic thing. It’s because I just don’t have the energy to summon words for your bigotry.
